Poor Player (Live Music)Homegrown Motor City Indie folk Americana born of an excess of beverages, Poor Player is a four piece band that takes to the stage with barrel house rambles, neo Dustbowl yodels, and a hopped up grab bag of American riddles and laments. Saluting the guy flying a sign beside the highway exit, zigzagging through the post-industrial prairie, Poor Player is all about finding the roots beneath the rubble, the green beneath the ruin, the country blues in the pothole concrete, the folk in the f***d up, and the beauty in the Billy Dee Williams billboards.

Jeremy Waun & Dave Peters (Live Music)Jeremy Waun has been hailed by Detroit’s Metro Times as “The singer-songwriter for people who don’t like singer-songwriters.” Raised in Rural Michigan just outside Port Huron this country buck turned city boy has been making waves in the heart of Detroit since the summer of 2009. After hosting countless shows for acts from across the world and haunting the city’s d.i.y. and bar scene, Waun has made himself known amongst Detroiters. Not only as the guitarist for punk-metal hybrids (Child Bite, and Reverend.) But also as a folk singer. One who sings songs that can make you cry and tells stories that will make you cry laughing. Jeremy’s solo music has been compared to the likes of John Frusciante, Devendra Banhart, and Marc Bolan’s Tyrannosaurus Rex. Holy acoustic guitars mixed with spiritual lyrics. Also known to dabble into electronic territories. The performer has been called a true comedian and is recognized for their unforgettable stage banter. Waun has set up a number of solo tours charted across the Midwest and United States. He has toured extensively and has even gone international playing guitar for Child Bite. Jeremy has released a slew of hand made cassettes, lathe records, and CDs. His Debut LP “City Vibes” was released in 2015 by Feeding Tube Records. Currently the artist is waiting on the production of their latest work. A self released LP to be titled “This Light Inside Your Mind.” The album was recorded in the home of Chad Morgan-Sterenberg in Detroit. It was then mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago. The Vinyl is slated to be finished by the end of 2022 and is being pressed at Archer Records.

Brian McCosky (Live Music)Brian T. McCosky began his musical journey over 15 years ago in Petoskey’s open mic scene. In that time his guitar and songwriting has taken him from Michigan to the Rockies and back. As the guitarist in the Colorado based The Longest Day of the Year, he has shared the stage with Grammy award-winning artists such as The Blind Boys of Alabama and Sturgill Simpson. Best known for his work with Northern Michigan staples such as Pocketwood Mandingo and The Mudbugz, Brian recently returned with a new artistic vision. Combining acoustic and electric guitars, songwriting, and today’s latest music technology, Brian bridges the gap between producer and performer. From live looping to electronic beats, heartfelt lyrics to finger-picked instrumental arrangements, his music finds something for everyone. Every time.

Olivia Dear (Live Music)Olivia Dear (formerly Olivia Millerschin) captivates audiences with her celestial voice, wrapping them in a gossamer blend of modern pop and folk songwriting. Hailing from Detroit, Dear has won two John Lennon Songwriting Awards, the Great American Song Contest, and could recently be heard singing at 2018 Olympics for U.S. Ice Dancers, Madison Chock and Evan Bates.

After years of touring and releasing music, Dear explains the name change: “When I started writing and releasing original music, I was 14-years-old and, naturally, I used my family name. Even then, I knew ‘Millerschin’ was A LOT, but it never occurred to me that I could or should go by any other name. In 2020, I was given the funding and time to start again, say what I mean, and create the music I’ve always wanted to. The new title originates from my Grandma, who has greeted me as ‘Olivia Dear’ since birth.”

Averaging 150+ shows annually, spanning from Los Angeles to London, living rooms to concert halls; Dear is no stranger to touring. But over the past year, backed by TIDAL streaming services, Olivia Dear is turning all of her creative and emotional efforts towards this new music, new name, and new statement.
