Artist Vendor Parameters for Selling at the Raven

To provide a platform for local artists to showcase and sell their creations, the following parameters are set for submitting and selling art at the Raven:

  1. Artwork Vetting:
    • All art will be evaluated by our Art Curator, Jody Parmann, to ensure it complements the aesthetic and thematic ethos of the Raven.
    • Acceptable themes include Raven-related art, Edgar Allan Poe-themed creations, local cultural expressions, and broadly appealing horror art.
  2. Presentation of Artwork:
    • Signed and priced artwork is essential for straightforward customer transactions. Each piece must be ready for sale upon acceptance.
  3. Commission:
    • The Raven claims a 25% commission from the sale price of each piece.
  4. Tax Documentation:
    • Artists must complete all necessary tax documentation to be issued a 1099 form for annual tax reporting.
  5. Sales Performance:
    • Should any artwork fail to sell adequately, the artist will be asked to retrieve their work.
  6. Liability:
    • The Raven is not responsible for the damage, loss, or theft of any artwork while on the premises.
  7. Artwork Submission:
    • Agreeing artists should send images and prices of their art for sale to Jody Parmann at JP@jodyparmann.art.
  8. 2D Artwork Hanging Requirements:
    • All 2D artwork must have the proper hanging hardware (eye hooks and wire) installed before delivery to ensure it is ready for display.
  9. Quarterly Payment Collection:
    • Artists must pick up payments for their sold pieces quarterly. These will not be sent via mail or digital transfer and should not be neglected at the Raven. (March 31, June 30, Sept. 30 & Dec. 29)

Artists interested in showcasing their work at the Raven are advised to adhere to these parameters closely. To begin the submission process, review your artwork to ensure it aligns with the Raven’s thematic requirements, prepare it for sale, and ensure all hardware for hanging is correctly installed.

Please maintain professional communication and be sure to send high-quality images along with the price points for your artwork. Be responsive to the Raven staff’s communication and keep track of your sales and payment collection dates.
