This week is exciting.
I love Thanksgiving. You hang out with family, eat far too much food, maybe play Cards Against Humanity and listen to kids and assorted family members squabble over everything from sharing toys to politics.
If we’re lucky, we get to sleep in on Friday.
And then…Small Business Saturday! Huzzah!
Wondering what the buzz around Small Business Saturday is all about?
For those not in the loop, this Saturday is all about keeping our hard-earned dollars within our community and supporting local business owners and artists. Many people are all about this life year-round, but it’s nice to have a day set aside just for small businesses to kick off the official holiday season.
The idea was launched November of 2010 by the American Express Corporation. They campaigned to support the day, and since then it has become something of a national event.
There are nearly thirty million small businesses in the U.S. employing about 48% of the workforce.
Small business is kind of a big deal.
If you’re out and about downtown this Saturday, we hope to see your face!
Stop in for a coffee or a cocoa and a bite to eat, and check out our walls adorned with local art. Some of these pieces are for sale, and many also have prints available. Just ask!
You can also get a little something for the Raven fans on your list.
In addition to super easy gift cards (that come with a bonus for you!), there is the sweet gift bundle option.
When you gather together these wonderful things for gifting, you will receive a complimentary beautiful organza gift bag. We even throw in a tag! So easy!
We also carry shirts with clever Raven designs, as well as hand crafted hats and aprons. Plus jewelry! Patches, and pins, and books!
How convenient is that, that you can stop in for a coffee and get a bit of gift shopping done? All in the comfort of your very own Raven Cafe.
Don’t like shopping, or already have your holiday shopping wrapped up?
You can still participate this Saturday by supporting local charities and non-profit organizations.
I hope that you have a wonderful week and eat way too much.
See you soon!
